Hi Everyone!! Thought since I had spent soooo much time at work these last couple of months that I'd try and paint my version of it after a rain (thus, the reflections!). This is oil paint on a 18" x 24" canvas. Not the greatest subject, but remember... it is a dreaded oil refinery!!
I think it is a beautiful scene and very nicely painted indeed. Night scenes are so beautiful, I saw a fantastic one recently by Turner, it was a castle somewhere. Was dead serene. I would go out and try painting a scene one night here if it wasn't so bleedin' cold.

Thank you Ian! I'm glad you like it! I love painting from a black canvas. It seems to make the colors so brilliant - and even if you use only a few! Why not take a night type picture and try and paint from that until it warms up? Just a thought. That's what I did... picture wasn't so great, but I at least had a little reference to go by. Sad to hear you're weather hasn't warmed up yet..., but you might be relieved to know that it hasn't warmed up here either. It can be quite nice during the day, but the nights are still cold enough to have the furnace on! And it's June already for crying out loud!
